An iceberg that
sunk unsinkable
In 1912,the titanic hit an iceberg and sunk and drowing about 1,500 people
and 700 people were saved,mostly the first class pasengger. Although everyone
thought the ship was unsinkable, it sank on its first voyage from Southampton,
England to New York City. When it struck an iceberg at 11.40 p.m. on april
14, the most luxurios, dependaple mode of transportation became a byword
in disaster lore.
Ice cover one tenth of the surface. Britain was once covered with ice,
just like Greenland is today. During the last ice age ,10,0000 years ago
the polar icecap covered much of nothern Europe, Canada, Northern Asia.
